Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an Executive and Life Coach?

A: A Coach, like a trainer works with you on YOUR goals. A coach may challenge you or propose a different perspective on your dream results but like a personal trainer, cannot put the muscle on your body. It’s work you must do YOURSELF. Who gets you into training mode? I do. Who counts the number of push-ups or stages of your professional transition? A coach does.

Q: Then why should I hire a Coach, if I have to do the work?

A: Statements such as, “I’ll start my own business one day.” Or, “I should have gotten that promotion”, don’t include any ACTION on YOUR part. A Coach assists you into habits and practices that give life to your passion and career fantasies.

Q: How much time will this take?

A: Coaches work differently. I take the approach that as individuals we know the answers already, though perhaps a little additional research may be in order. We just need to rearrange the priorities and focus on REFRAMING and ACTION. Challenging Solution-Focused sessions bring a change to your style almost immediately. Do you want more time and coaching? We can work out the next phase of your career strategy.

Q: Am I guaranteed success?

A: Any coach, who says yes, does so with this caveat: How much of yourself are you willing to invest in an important change in your life? Yes, is strongly and positively related to the amount of personal energy, focus and motivation that you bring to this relationship.

Q: Isn’t coaching just a cookie-cutter version of motivational work?

A: There are few issues as varied as a person’s choice of career and vocation. Not every coach works well with every client. That’s because each coach brings something different to the discussion. If it does not fit, it will not work. It’s important that client and coach work well together and the introductory session helps to determine this process.

Q: Can’t I just talk with my friends about my plans?

A: There are many individuals and professionals who can effectively work with you to make the most of your experience. Will they challenge you? Do they have the background you need to rely on, such as business, divorce, physical and mental health? Whether it comes to painting your house, birthing your baby or instructing you in legal matters, you want someone with experience. Will they be there every week to objectively help you sort your issues?

Q: Why once a week?

A: Once a week has just enough repetition to drive home lessons discovered in the coaching session. Once a week gives the client a chance to practice and review what occurred in the session.

Q: Does everyone need a coach?

A: No. What a coach does is help a client achieve their goals and aims. Some lucky individuals have achieved a level of happiness and contentment that coaches are assisting other persons in attaining. Have you ever wondered why it seems so easy for others? Career decisions and changes seem so effortless for some because perhaps without knowing these people are practicing habits that coaches are teaching.

Q: What number should I call?

A: 1-888-757-0727, toll free in the United States.
